Temporary Road Closure & Temporary 30 MPH Speed Limit – A2260 Southfleet Road & A2 Nursery Slip Westbound Off, Swanscombe – From 21st July 2022 

It will be necessary to close part of Southfleet Road, Swanscombe, in 3 phases.

In conjunction with these works an Order has been made to temporarily impose a mandatory 30 MPH speed limit on part of the A2260 Southfleet Road and the A2 Nursery Slip Westbound Off. The speed reduction is planned from the 21st July 2022, with estimated completion by 29th August 2022.

The speed reduction will be imposed between the junction of the Ebbsfleet International Roundabout to the end point of the A2 Nursery Slip Westbound Off, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The 3 phases of the road closures are detailed below:

Phase 1 – A closure is planned from 23rd July 2022, with estimated completion by 24th July 2022.

Phase 2 – A closure is planned from 25th August 2022, with estimated completion by 30th August 2022.

Phase 3 – A closure is planned from 21:00 hours on 30th August 2022, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 31st August 2022.

The road closure lengths and diversion routes for each phase are detailed below:

Phase 1 – The A2260 Southfleet Road will be closed on the northbound and southbound lanes of the dual carriageway between the Ackers Drive Roundabout and the Ebbsfleet International Roundabout, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any northbound traffic is via A2 Nursery Slip Eastbound Off, A2 Watling Street, A2 Trunk Road, A2 Wrotham Road, Rathmore Road, Darnley Road (C576), A226 Darnley Road, A226 New Road, A226 Overcliffe, A226 London Road, A226 Thames Way, and A2260 Ebbsfleet Gateway.

The alternative route for any southbound traffic is via A2260 Ebbsfleet Gateway, A226 Thames Way, A226 Stonebridge Road, A226 Galley Hill Road, A226 London Road, B255 St Clements Way, B255 Bean Road, A296 Watling Street, A2 Merry Chest Slip, A2 Watling Street, and A2 Nursery Slip Eastbound Off.

Phase 2 – The A2260 Southfleet Road will be closed on the Ebbsfleet International Roundabout between the entrance of the northbound and southbound dual carriageway, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any southbound and northbound traffic is via the A2260 Southfleet Road Southbound carriageway towards the Ackers Drive Roundabout, onto the A2260 Southfleet Road northbound carriageway up to the Ebbsfleet International Roundabout.

Phase 3 – The A2260 Southfleet Road will be closed on the northbound and southbound lanes of the dual carriageway between the Ackers Drive Roundabout and the Ebbsfleet International Roundabout, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any northbound traffic is via A2 Nursery Slip Eastbound Off, A2 Watling Street, A2 Trunk Road, A2 Wrotham Road, Rathmore Road, Darnley Road (C576), A226 Darnley Road, A226 New Road, A226 Overcliffe, A226 London Road, A226 Thames Way, and A2260 Ebbsfleet Gateway.

The alternative route for any southbound traffic is via A2260 Ebbsfleet Gateway, A226 Thames Way, A226 Stonebridge Road, A226 Galley Hill Road, A226 London Road, B255 St Clements Way, B255 Bean Road, A296 Watling Street, A2 Merry Chest Slip, A2 Watling Street, and A2 Nursery Slip Eastbound Off.

The speed restriction and closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while utility works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

The road will be closed outside Marringdean.

The alternative route is via B260 Main Road, New Barn Road, B262 Hall Road, Hall Road, Coldharbour Road, A227 Wrotham Road, B260 Longfield Road and vice versa.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

Temporary Road Closure – Fawkham Road, Fawkham – 13th July 2022 for 1 Day, Between 09:30 Hours and 15:30 Hours

It will be necessary to close part of Fawkham Road, Fawkham, from 13th July 2022 with estimated completion by 13th July 2022.

Fawkham Road, Fawkham, will be closed outside Salts Farm Depot, for a distance approximately 235 metres in a Southerly direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is Fawkham Road, B2060 Main Road, Hartley Road, Ash Road, Chapel Wood Road, Ash Road, The Street, South Ash Road, Ash Lane, A20 London Road, Fawkham Road, Brands Hatch Road, Valley Road, and vice versa.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while utility works are undertaken by Openreach.

The road will be closed between Orbital One business park and Gore Road.

The road will be closed outside Weylands Cottage.

The alternative route is via B260 Green Street Green Road, A225 Princes Road/Lowfield Street/Hawley Road, Parsonage Lane, Darenth Hill and vice versa.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while a service pipe repair in the carriageway is undertaken by Thames Water.

Urgent Road Closure

Urgent Road Closure – Station Road, Southfleet – 13th June 2022 (Dartford)

 

It will be necessary to close Station Road, Southfleet from 13th June 2022 for up to 1 day.

The road will be closed between Dale Road and Westwood Road.

The alternative route is via Station Road, New Barn Road, Red Street, Main Road, Green Street Green Road, Sandbanks Hill, Betsham Road.

 

It is planned that the road will be closed between 09:30 hrs and 15:30 hrs.

This is to enable carriageway patching to be carried out by Kent County Council.

Annual Parish General Meeting

The annual Parish General Meeting will be held at the Church Hall, Main Road, Longfield on Tuesday 24th of May 2022 at 7:00pm. This will be followed by the monthly Parish Council Meeting. All members of the public are invited and a copy of the annual report is attached.

Longfield Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Thursday 2nd June 2022 – Free event

Longfield Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Thursday 2nd June 2022

Longfield Parish Council is proud to celebrate HM the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a firework display and beacon lighting in the Community Park (behind the village hall – Fawkham Road) on Thursday the 2nd June 2022. The event will start from 6:30pm with food and drink to purchase (including a beer tent) as well as live music, a DJ and children’s entertainment. This will be followed by a the lighting of the beacon t 9:45pm and a firework display shall conclude the event at 10pm.
