Highways & Lighting Committee
Terms of Reference of Highways and Lighting Committee
1) To act within the Council’s approved Standing Orders at all times.
2) To meet at least four times a year, reporting on its activities with
recommendations, to the council, following each committee meeting.
3) To review the standards of upkeep of all public highways, footways,
footpaths and bridleways within the Parish, and to identify those areas
requiring the attention of the appropriate authority to restore them to
proper condition.
4) To review the standards of upkeep of all lighting in the Parish, and to
identify those that are in need of attention by the service provider or
the appropriate authority in order to restore them to proper condition.
5) To review parking arrangements and traffic flow and congestion, and to
identify those areas where improvements may be made.
6) To maintain an overview of highway drainage, and standards of street
cleaning.
7) To undertake such other relevant reviews, examinations or activities as
may, from time to time, be referred to it by the Council.
This is undertaken within the monthly parish council meeting.
